How to change the cPanel release tier from the command line

Introduction

We release cPanel & WHM through five publicly-available tiers, which allows server owners to select their preferred update frequency as we develop and publish new versions of cPanel & WHM.

Procedure

1. Access the server's command line as the 'root' user via SSH or "Terminal" in WHM.
2. Open /etc/cpupdate.conf in your preferred text editor.
3. Change the "CPANEL" value to the desired release tier (edge, current, release, stable, or lts).

   CPANEL=stable

4. Save the changes and exit the text editor.
