Question
How does temporary blocking of a domain's outgoing emails for too many deferred or failed emails work?
Answer
There are two settings that will determine when outgoing emails are temporarily blocked.
- Maximum percentage of failed or deferred messages a domain may send per hour
- Number of failed or deferred messages a domain may send before protections can be triggered
Outgoing emails from a domain will be temporarily blocked if both of the following conditions are true:
- The percentage of failed or deferred messages, out of the total number of sent messages, is equal to or greater than the specified percentage for the past hour.
- The domain has sent at least the number of failed or deferred messages that the Number of failed or deferred messages a domain may send before protections can be triggered setting specifies.
These settings can also be applied per package and will apply to any accounts using that package.
