Symptoms
After performing an ELevate on your server, your domains that were set to "inherit" their PHP version are now set to a specific EA-PHP version. Typically this version that is set is the current server default.
On CloudLinux servers where domains must "inherit" the PHP version as a requirement for "alt-php", this results in the domain no longer using the intended "alt-php" version.
Description
When using ELevate on a server, various checks are performed to attempt to ensure that all configuration is updated properly to what is available in the updated OS. Information on the accounts is gathered such as the PHP version and other various PHP configurations so any configuration can be rebuilt as needed. However, as part of this configuration rebuild, domains are being set to use the stored PHP version even if they previously set this to "inherit".
We've opened an internal case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is RE-1573. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.
Workaround
There is currently no workaround. If the PHP version must be set to "inherit" on a domain, then this will need to be set manually after ELevate has completed.
