It is not uncommon to find your cPanel account's disk space getting filled due to an email account's trash folder. Thankfully, we can delete trash files in just a few easy steps.
- Log into the cPanel account in question, then navigate to File Manager. (cPanel >> Files >> File Manager)
- Select "View Trash" at the top, which is the second option to the right. (In between "Unselect All" and "Empty Trash")
- Sort the trash by size, name, permissions, last modified, and type.
- Select which files you want to remove and then select the "delete" option at the top. (In between "Download" and "Restore"
It is also possible to empty the entire trash folder at once, rather than selecting which files to keep or remove permanently.
- Log into the cPanel account in question, then navigate to File Manager. (cPanel >> Files >> File Manager)
- Click on "Empty Trash" in the top right corner of File Manager.
If you are uncertain whether it is trash files using up your cPanel account's disk space, I would recommend navigating to "Disk Usage" inside of cPanel. (cPanel >> Files >> Disk Usage)
From this interface, you will be able to figure out exactly how the disk space gets utilized. I would highly recommend reviewing our disk usage documentation as well.

By now, you should be able to clear this pesky trash from your cPanel account.
