Symptoms
With KernelCare installed, you may find that the WHM Security Advisor reports the following warning:
CONFIG_TEXT: Update the system’s software by running ’yum update’ from the command line and reboot the system.
WHM will also display the following message:
CONFIG_TEXT: You must reboot the server to apply software updates.
Cause
KernelCare prevents the need to reboot only when kernel-related packages are updated. Some system packages, such as systemd, still require a reboot after updating.
To review which packages require reboots for updates, you may execute the following command via SSH when logged in as root:
# needs-restarting -r
Resolution
Reboot the server.
