Question
What's the difference between UAPI and WHMAPI1?
Answer
WHM offers two different APIs, the WHMAPI1 and UAPI. What API you use will depend on if you're operating as the root user or a cPanel user. If you want to perform administrative tasks, such as creating a new account or enabling services, you will use the WHMAPI1. If you want to perform user-level tasks, such as creating an email account or database, you will use the UAPI. The port you call with the WHMAPI1 and the UAPI is also different. WHMAPI1 uses port 2087, while the UAPI uses port 2083.
