Why am I presented with a similar error to the following when attempting to send an email:

SMTP error from remote mail server after initial connection:
554 Blocked $IP_Address

 

Answer

This indicates that the remote server blocked the IP Address.

A few things that you can check are the following:

  • Determine if the IP address is blacklisted on a public RBL.
