How to Enable "optional" Repositories on RedHat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7

Introduction

Certain packages required by cPanel are not available on some of the standard base repositories for RedHat Enterprise Linux. For this reason, we suggest enabling the "optional" repository for your installation.

Procedure

To enable the "optional" repository on RedHat Enterprise Linux 6, please use the command below:

subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-6-server-optional-rpms

To enable the "optional" repository on RedHat Enterprise Linux 7, please use the command below:

subscription-manager repos --enable rhel-7-server-optional-rpms
