As the new cPanel Edge version, 98, is now available, the first version of cPanel for Ubuntu OS is now available. There are some server requirements for the server, so do make sure your server meets the requirements.
cPanel & WHM version 98 for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is experimental software, and we do not recommend using it in production environments.
The cPanel installer script will always default to the release version of cPanel, so you will need to make a cpupdate.conf file to change the cPanel version installed.
So to install the edge version of the software, your /etc/cpupdate.conf should look like the following:
Once this conf is in place, you can proceed with the installation as normal.
To install cPanel & WHM on your server, run the following command:
cd /home && curl -o latest -L https://securedownloads.cpanel.net/latest && sh latest
This command changes your session to the home directory, downloads the defined version of cPanel & WHM, and runs the installation script.
We have a guide on installation available in our documentation that explains how to install cPanel & WHM.
