Can I upgrade CentOS 7 to CentOS 8 on a cPanel & WHM server?

 

Answer

There is no method to upgrade from CentOS 7 to CentOS 8 supported by the cPanel & WHM software. We advise migrating to a new server if upgrading the operating system is necessary.

Please also keep in mind that CentOS 8 is reaching its end-of-life status.

When is support ending for the CentOS versions?

With this being the case, migrating to AlmaLinux 8 would be recommended over CentOS 8.
