Question
What is NSIV or Network socket inode validation?
Answer
NSIV or Network socket inode validation is a 3rd party software from R-FX NETWORKS. Network socket inode validation is a rule-based utility intended to validate inodes against each LISTEN socket on a system.
NSIV is used as a Service monitor to verify the integrity of services on a given system.
Since cPanel & WHM uses chkservd driver to determine whether a process is online and whether to restart the process. This can cause unknown conflict, and it is recommended that only 1 Service for monitoring is used.
We suggest simply removing this NSIV software, as it's not supported or handled by cPanel & WHM. We advise only using chkservd driver as we support its usage.
