Symptom
After unlinking and relinking a cPanel server, it does not appear in the WebPros Dashboard MCP server dropdown, so an MCP token cannot be created.
Cause
The unlink does not remove the old MCP registration file, which holds the server hostname and a ServerGuid:
# /var/cpanel/authn/mcp_registered/<hash>
Related cases: CPANEL-56404, CPANEL-54906.
Resolution
- Confirm the dashboard IPs can reach port 2087: 52.51.23.204, 52.213.169.7, 34.254.37.129.
-
Move the stale file aside:
mv /var/cpanel/authn/mcp_registered/<hash> /root/old-$(hostname)-mcpkey$(date +%Y-%m-%d) - Unlink and relink the server in the WebPros Dashboard and confirm it appears in the dropdown.
Notes
Seen on cPanel 11.138.0.15.
