During nightly cPanel updates when using MariaDB version 10.3 or higher, or trying to upgrade to MariaDB version 10.3 or higher you may notice an error similar to the following.
[2022-08-15 02:00:00 +0000] E [/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/findphpversion] https://yum.mariadb.org/10.3/centos7-amd64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] HTTPS Error 404 - Not Found
It appears that MariaDB has made a recent change to their version 10.3 and higher repos and they appear to be empty.
This can be verified by opening the repo in your browser.
We've opened an upstream case for our development team to investigate this further. For reference, the case number is UPS-474. Follow this article to receive an email notification when a solution is published in the product.
You can modify the repo file for your version of MariaDB.
This example shows the 10.3 file. Edit the /etc/yum.repos.d/MariaDB103.repo file and comment out the normal baseurl and add the archive baseurl as shown below:
#baseurl = https://yum.mariadb.org/10.3/centos7-amd64
baseurl = https://archive.mariadb.org/mariadb-10.3/yum/centos7-amd64
