How to use AutoSSL for email-only domains?
Root domains are hosted elsewhere, but cPanel is used for email on multiple accounts on this server.
The AutoSSL installation fails on these domains, again because it sees the root domain is hosted elsewhere at a different IP (and can't see the verification file).
But it doesn't check any further, or verify that the mail.domain.com domains are in fact valid, and are, in fact, hosted on this server, at the correct IP (it does not verify MX settings).
What is the easiest way to accomplish AutoSSL installations in these cases, to secure the cpanel generated subdomains?

Hello, Do you have root access to the system? If so, check that AutoSSL is enabled for the account from "WHM >> Manage AutoSSL" and that the SSL Host Installer feature is enabled for the feature list associated with the account via "WHM >> Feature Manager". Also, see if "Allow cPanel users to install SSL Hosts" is enabled in "WHM >> Tweak Settings" under the "System" tab. Thank you. 0 -
Thank you -- yes, all those settings are ok. I think there is a documentation issue. Here: For cPanel & WHM version 68 This is listed as the location: (cPanel >> Home >> Security >> SSL/TLS Status) But here: WHM Features List - Version 68 Documentation - cPanel Documentation The options are as I see them. No SSL/TLS Status... Searching however doesn't reveal them in a different place either... 0 -
Hello, You are looking from within Web Host Manager. You have to access cPanel for the individual account to see the SSL TLS Status option. It's not a feature that's found in Web Host Manager. Thank you. 0 -
Wonderful - yes, I was looking in the wrong place. This is just what I needed, solved my problem exactly. Thank you very much! 0
