I am hosted on Hostgator, com shared server, I am going to migrate to GoDaddy VPS account using WHM.
I have a main domain with a dozen Addon domains (see screenshot)

when in WHM and I go to Transfer, would I choose
- Copy Accounts from another Server
- OR
- Copy multiple Accounts Packages from another Server
-
From the Cpanel of hostgator you should be able to create full backup from backups option in cpanel. Download that backup and upload it to Godaddy VPS. On Godaddy VPS, place that backup file in /home partition. Now login to WHM with root and from Restore Account option you can easily restore the backup. 0 -

I thought WHM was to transfer a full Cpanel site to another Cpanel site? the reason I need to move my site, it that my backup are not fully backing up without timing out, because I am over my Inodes limit. so I do not think the backup would be reliable. 50199 So I'm still not sure which is the right selection?- Copy Accounts from another Server

Yes i tried this, tried to place the backup in root. waited for Hostgator to complete the backup... Nope, no backup in my root, and no email either...0 -
well, you have exceeded the space allocated to your account and hence the backups may be are not generated. Remove the unnecessary files from your account and contact the hostgator support to generate a full backup which downlodable for you. 0 -

Yes, I have leased a VPS server from a different hosting provider. Moving some websites over this weekend, then will delete them off of hostgators server, not sure that this will be enough though? If it is, great, if it is not, what would be my alternative choices? Thanks0 -
Hello, The following option is available if you are transferring an account from a shared server that you don't have root access to: "WHM >> Transfers >> Copy an Account From Another Server With an Account Password" However, if you are facing issues with backup generations on the shared server due to a lack of space or inodes, then it could also lead to issues during the transfer attempt. You may want to verify where most of the inode usage is coming from to see if the files can be cleaned up or temporarily downloaded/removed during the transfer attempt. Thank you. 0
