New Server Questions
I want to have you guys clear somethings up before I purchase Cpanel & WHM!
Start off with a few questions I have...as I will be running this as a business
My concerns are as follows...
I launch my hosting business on dedicated hardware and my domain is business.com
I want customers to be able to go cpanel.business.com to mange there personal accounts
Can I also manage my business website by logging in also? and it brings me to WHM? @ cpanel.business.com? or WHM separate log in screen?
Number TWO my biggest concern
Say my business blows up and have alots of customers and the box I'm running on runs out of processor and storage?
How would I go about bringing more hardware online? and point a new box to the same login @
cpanel.business.com ?
Can someone explain this process once I run out of resources on one box how to I bring more hardware online and seamlessly integrate more hardware?

WHM/Cpanel has logically 2 parts. WHM - it is to administrate the server like restarting services, backup configuration, adding websites, adding packages, editing DNS etc.. can be done through WHM Cpanel - Cpanel is specifially to administrate an individual website that is added through WHM. Tasks like adding addon domain, adding email IDs, creating FTP accounts etcc... are done through cpanel. I want customers to be able to go cpanel.business.com to mange there personal accounts ? - Yes, this feature is a built in feature in cpanel so your clients can easily access cpanel with the URL as you mentioned. I also manage my business website by logging in also? and it brings me to WHM? @ cpanel.business.com? or WHM separate log in screen? - Yes, surely you can mmanage your business website logggin in to whm or cpanel . You can access the cpanel of any website through WHM by going to list accounts >> then clicking CP icon near to that particular website. How would I go about bringing more hardware online? and point a new box to the same login @ cpanel.business.com ? - You can either ask your server provider to upgrade the RAM, HDD or if you want to upgrade to a complete new powerful server, you will need to install cpanel on that server and all the websites can be migrated to that new server through Transfer tool in WHM. 0 -

Thank you for the reply, There is no way to run two physical boxes? and have my customer login at cpanel.business.com or business.com/cpanel ? I'm just really confused how do business owners with more than one dedicated box run there operation? if one box is filled?0 -
Hello, Can I also manage my business website by logging in also? and it brings me to WHM? @ cpanel.business.com? or WHM separate log in screen?
Yes, but note that WHM runs on a separate port (accessible at whm.domain.tld or domain.tld/whm).Can someone explain this process once I run out of resources on one box how to I bring more hardware online and seamlessly integrate more hardware?
You'd need to setup a separate cPanel server if you want to run two servers. To account for such an occurrence, you could initially direct users to access cPanel via "cpanel.theirdomain.tld", as that's automatically setup as part of the proxy subdomain feature as long as the domain name uses name servers associated with the cPanel server. Support for high availability is not yet offered, but you can vote and review comments at: Active-Active Redundancy or High-availability Thank you.0
