It is not possible to do this automatically for users on shared IPv4 addresses?

By default all the mails from the accounts goes through the shared IP only. What exactly you want configure?

Somehow I must have changed the default settings by accident" Mails are being send out from the server main IP address. I like mails being sent from the shared IP address of the actual domain or user.

The option at WHM > Service Configuration > Exim Configuration Manager: "Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address" will manage the IP's for you. When enabled, if an account has a dedicated IP, that IP will be used to send mail. If an account doesn't have a dedicated IP, it will use the main shared IP. If enabling "Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address", cPanel will completely manage the '/etc/mailips' file. If you have the need to customize the '/etc/mailips' outside of what "Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address" provides, you will need to disable "Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address" entirely.

I just tried "Send mail from account"s dedicated IP address" and it works with shared IPs too.
