Backup retention not deleting?

    Hello, To clarify, do more than four daily backups exist, despite a retention setting of four? If so, do you notice any specific error messages in the most recent backup log (/usr/local/cpanel/logs/cpbackup/XXXX.log)? Thank you.

    Thanks Michael for pointing out the log. I reviewed it and I noticed the backup partially failed. Looks like it could backup some database components due to corruption. The end of the logs shows: [2018-01-23 02:37:19 -0800] info [backup] Final state is Backup::PartialFailure (0) Could this partialfailure be the reason why it didn't delete the jobs outside of the retention period? thanks.

    Yes that is right, partial failure of the backup results in having the backup not deleted..

    Hello, By default, when the system backup partially completes (fails), the system will not delete the oldest backup, and it will continue to retain the oldest backups. This procedure ensures that the system retains at least one retained complete backup. We document this, plus options available to change this behavior, at:
