Are these cPanel related folders/files?
Are those folders related to cPanel.
1)Does cPanel ever stored at or does it currently use any of those folders in the /opt/ ? I'm worried especially about the /opt/php_with_imap_client/ because google results related to this are not optimistic. Inside there is a file /opt/php_with_imap_client/version with content just
2)Could those above been publicly accessible in anyway? I think that when I got the dedicated box it was delivered to me without a fresh clean as most of those are dated in 2013 (a couple of years earlier than i got the box).
/opt/cpanel/ <-- I understand that this one is legit
/opt/curlssl/
/opt/libmcrypt/
/opt/lua/ <-- #which lua returns /usr/bin/lua
/opt/pcre/
/opt/php_with_imap_client/
/opt/postupcp/
/opt/rh/
/opt/suphp/
/opt/tidy/
/opt/xml2/

Hi, )Does cPanel ever stored at or does it currently use any of those folders in the /opt/ ?
Not all files in this filesystem area belongs to the cPanel, most of them are default filesystems.. /opt/suphp/ was used previously, but it has moved to /etc now in new builds.. In new cPanel builts, you will see /opt/cpanel and this is important one for PHP customization..)Could those above been publicly accessible in anyway?
No, they are not accessible publically..0 -
Hello, The directories you see in /opt appear to correspond to a system using EasyApache 3, as it's normal to see those directories when using EA3. With EasyApache 4, you will notice the following directory instead: /opt/cpanel/ Thank you. 0 -
