No Special FTP Accounts - Shows Error
It happens to only one of my cpanel accounts. Sync FTP passwords doesn't seem to fix the issue. Changed the Account password several times and resynced but no show.
It shows unknown error.

Hello, Your access level shows as "Reseller Owner". Do you have root access to this server? If so, please let us know the output you see in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log when this happens. Otherwise, please report this to your web hosting provider so they can take a closer look. Thank you.0 -

Hello @AndyX, Can you verify the /home/$username/etc/ directory exists for the affected account? Thank you. 0 -
Hi Michael, Thanks for checking. No the /home/$username/etc/ directory does not exist. 0 -
Thanks for checking. No the /home/$username/etc/ directory does not exist.
Hello, That's a required directory that includes information about FTP and email accounts. You'll need to restore the directory from a backup of the account if one exists with the missing directory. Otherwise, you'll need to consider backing up the existing data of the account, and then terminating/recreating the account to repopulate the directory. You'll also need to re-add any existing email or FTP accounts. Thank you.0 -
I went ahead and opened a ticket (cPanel customer portal) and the issue was quickly fixed in less than 2 hours. Turned out to that somehow the etc/ was moved to public_html/ directory. I'm very impressed with the ticket system here at cPanel. 0
