Missing most WHM options
For example, "Tweak Settings" and "Packages." I have attached an image of what my WHM home screen looks like.
I have root ssh access, and can edit /var/cpanel/cpanel.config, but it would be nice to be able to manage those options from the GUI, especially as most documentation includes only GUI-based instructions.
My server versions:
/etc/redhat-release:CentOS Linux release 7.4.1708 (Core)
/usr/local/cpanel/version:11.68.0.28
/var/cpanel/envtype:virtuozzo
CPANEL=release

Are you logged into WebHost Manager as root user or a Reseller? 0 -
Oh boy, I did not even realize there was a root/ account for WHM (I recently inherited this system and am not super familiar with cPanel/WHM). It looks like I was logging in as the user for a specific domain (conveniently named admin), explaining why I did not have a lot of options. As a follow-up, is this best practices? I was intending to replace the ssh passwords with key-based authentication. Would that break root WHM access? Anyway, thanks for leading me in the right direction! 0 -
Happy to help. :) The docs should be useful to you: Tips to Make Your Server More Secure - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation 0
