Apache MPM Event Guidance
Hi guys,
We have cpanel servers using Litespeed and Apache MPM Event(with mod_lsapi). Now we noticing the Apache servers go down randomly for about minute or two before service auto restarts whereas litespeed servers havent gone down in over a year.
Litespeed servers have over 1000 sites on them with far less memory on the servers (8GB to 14GB) whereas the Apache servers have 16GB to 20GB on them but with far less sites usually around 500 to 800 sites.
I'm thinking before we decide to purchase a litespeed licence to maybe check our config of Apache MPM Event as that may be our bottleneck? or should we switch back to good ol stable mpm worker?
Here is our current config settings in WHM Apache config for MPM event servers:
Start Servers = 3
Minimum Spare Servers = 3
Maximum Spare Servers = 16
Server Limit = 400
Max Connections Per Child = 10000
Keep-Alive Timeout = 2
Max Keep-Alive Requests = 100
Timeout = 300
For a Shared Web Hosting site where we want to have 800 to 1000 sites per server is the above config ideal or at misconfigured.
Most sites are wordpress sites.
