2 sender hostnames used in alerts from Contact Manager
Some monitoring emails are going out FROM wrong hostname which is not a FQDN.
Instead of city.hostname.tld for example, it's truncated to just city.
/etc/hostname has the correct full name.
Compare these 2:
Where is cPanel pulling the hostname from for each of these two alerts? - Account creation and Disk usage warnings The latter messages are of course never reaching us because the sender address is not a FQDN and doesn't resolve. It's detected as spam.

It appears to be just disk warning and disk critical messaging picking up the wrong hostame. Where is this script ? 0 -
Haw you checked the account's contact email address to make sure its added properly? 0 -
What account? This is not for an inidividual website cpanel. It's the server disk usage. And it's not the recipient address at fault - it's the FROM These are the alerts to the server admin from the WHM "Contact Manager". Specifically the ones for disk usage. I already checked /etc/hostname - it's correct. 0 -
My apologies. You've checked these as well I assume? Home "Server Configuration "Basic WebHost Manager" Setup Home "Server Contacts "Edit System Mail Preferences 0 -
There is no where here on those 2 pages you directed me to to specify the server's hostname which is then used for sending the alerts. Again, it is not a problem whatsoever with the recipient email addresses. They are correct. All other alerts appear to be addressed "FROM" the FQDN completed hostname of the server. These DISK alerts are addressed FROM the shorthostname. Where is script locate which sends the DISK alerts ? I tried but have been unable to find it. Or if someone can tell me where it is pulling the incorrect hostname from? /etc/hostname is correct 0 -
Is it Friday yet? I'm no help at all here. You might try updating the hostname using this tool to see if it helps. The set_hostname Utility - Version 68 Documentation - cPanel Documentation [QUOTE] The set_hostname Utility To use the /usr/local/cpanel/bin/set_hostname utility, run the following command as the root user: /usr/local/cpanel/bin/set_hostname newhostname In this command, newhostname is the new hostname that you wish to use on the server. When you run this command, the set_hostname utility performs the following actions: - It updates the hostname in the /etc/sysconfig/network file, and in the kernel.
- It updates the server's Apache configuration.
- It updates the cPanel license.
- It updates cPHulk.
- It restarts MySQL".
- It rebuilds cPanel & WHM's global cache.
- It updates the FTP, Exim, Dovecot, and cPanel SSL certificates.
