SOLR use by customers

If a cPanel users wants to use SOLR on their site, can they use the built in cpanel-dovecot-solr to index their information or do they need to install a separate copy? Also, if they are using Cloud Linux and cagefs, does the java/solr executable need to be added? Best regards, Eric

  Hello Eric, The following information is noted in the Search Index option to manually reindex FTS to the menu of cPanel's Manage Plugins interface (WHM >> Home >> cPanel >> Manage Plugins).

  They are not wanting to index their email, they have other information in their hosting account that they want indexed via SOLR. Sorry if I was not clear on that.

  Hi, SOLR is integrated and distributed for use by cPanel & WHM, not for use with end-user or customer websites or web applications. While it is possible to use it in that way, we make no guarantees as to whether future updates to SOLR will continue to function for your website or application.
