Steps to restore a system_files.tar full server backup

HI, I cannot seem to find any solution to restoring a full system backup? My WHM Server bombed completely after an update, and my ISP was unable to restore the server, they have now given me a login to the WHM Server which is "Brand new" as like the day I started my account. They said I can simply restore a backup. pfffttt. I was doing backups to my google drive and have the system_files.tar folder from the backup, any help would be greatly appreciated? regards, Ashley

  Hello, The "System Backup" only includes configuration files that you can manually restore. We document a list of these files at: System Backups - Version 68 Documentation - cPanel Documentation You need to have account backups in order to restore the actual accounts and their data. Were you backing up the accounts to the remote destination as well? Thank you.

  Yes, I have 2 backups, the system backup, and the accounts backup?

  is there a size limit on restoring multiple accounts, my accounts backup is 9.9GB?

  There's no limit as long as the server has enough free space to handle the archive itself and the restored data. Thank you.

  Thank you, can you tell me what files to manually restore for the "packages" from the system backup data? and where it is stored on the server. I have hundreds of zipped files that don't seem to correspond with the folders on the FTP Server?

  I am successfully restoring the accounts :) thank you. I have a problem with some of the website restores that are not working, and I think this is due to the packages it is assigning to the domains.
