Email storage encryption

Hello, Is there any way to store the emails in an encrypted file rather than just text (or compressed). Or have dovecot keep storing in individual files but encrypted. At this moment, an attack to the website exposes the whole account making it easy to read the email files. Also, storing the shadow password files in a better place, outside the account, would also be smart but, in this post, I'm just addressing the email storage that should be encrypted. Any way to do that? Kind regards Daniel
