ClamScan Takes Too Long

hi, the clan scan takes too much time. What do you advise me to do? I do not want to disable it because in my scenario i need it. how did you do it? change cpu? change antivirus? :) thanks ----------- SCAN SUMMARY ----------- Known viruses: 6462050 Engine version: 0.99.2 Scanned directories: 58679 Scanned files: 575633 Infected files: 1 Data scanned: 52112.34 MB Data read: 44709.15 MB (ratio 1.17:1) Time: 23688.123 sec (394 m 48 s)

  Hello, It's likely just a limitation of your server's hardware. I don't believe you can reduce the scan time without changing out your server's hardware or reducing the number of files you scan. Thank you.

  of course, i need to exclude more directories in the scan..... normally i scan entire /home excluding some dirs this is my command : /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/clamscan /home --exclude-dir='/home/virtfs|/home/.cpan|/home/.cpcpan|/home/backup' -ir --remove=yes | mail -s "Scansione Virus" mail@example.com inside home i have accounts and i can exclude dirs here is it possible to exclude dir with wildcard ??? example: /home/*/logs thanks

  Hello, That's one way of configuring clamscan, yes. Ensure it scans both files that were modified, and newly created files. Thank you.
