How to apply the changes to /etc/cpupdate.conf
Hi,
I made some changes to /etc/cpupdate.conf to make updates manual but still when I go to whm and check the update preferences the old values are shown and the changes to /etc/cpupdate.conf are being ignored.
Is there a command I need to run after changes to /etc/cpupdate.conf?
Here is the content of my /etc/cpupdate.conf
CPANEL=release
RPMUP=manual
SARULESUP=daily
STAGING_DIR=/usr/local/cpanel
UPDATES=manual

Hi @shazde Can you check the permissions of the cpupdate.conf file? Changes made here should be reflected at WHM>>Server Configuration>>Update Preferences I tested this on a test server to confirm this as well. The permission and ownership of this file should be as follows: # stat /etc/cpupdate.conf File: "/etc/cpupdate.conf" Size: 84 Blocks: 8 IO Block: 4096 regular file Device: fd01h/64769d Inode: 1311907 Links: 1 Access: (0644/-rw-r--r--) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 0/ root) Access: 2018-04-05 10:07:58.537243292 -0400 Modify: 2018-04-05 10:07:56.110243777 -0400 Change: 2018-04-05 10:07:56.111243776 -0400 Birth: -
The attributes of the file should be as follows as well:# lsattr /etc/cpupdate.conf -------------e-- /etc/cpupdate.conf
Per our documentation there should be no extra steps necessary to modify these values. You can see this here:0 -
Here is what I have: # stat /etc/cpupdate.conf File: `/etc/cpupdate.conf' Size: 89 Blocks: 8 IO Block: 4096 regular file Device: fc02h/64514d Inode: 21760146 Links: 1 Access: (0644/-rw-r--r--) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 0/ root) Access: 2018-04-05 10:59:25.923000001 +0100 Modify: 2018-04-05 09:39:03.000000000 +0100 Change: 2018-04-05 10:59:15.757000001 +0100
# lsattr /etc/cpupdate.conf -------------e- /etc/cpupdate.conf
Also the file and whm now display the same values but that was not the case yesterday.0
