One email clogging whole queue?
I have a user that sent out a new-blog post notification email to about 100 subscribers. All of these messages are 'hung' in the mail queue, as one single item in the list.
When I manually hit "Deliver All" or select the one item (with multiple emails) and "Deliver Selected" - the queue tries to deliver the first email, fails, then gives up. It as if the first message can't be delivered it fails the entire queue.
The reason for the one failed message appears to be because the remote host is offiline.
Is there any way to delete that one failing email, or otherwise get the remaining items to be delivered?

Hello, Are you sure the emails to the other email addresses have not actually been sent? Generally, what will happen is the message ID will remain in the queue until delivery to all of the included recipients succeeds. You can check /var/log/exim_mainlog to see if that's the case. EX: exigrep $subject /var/log/exim_mainlog

Ahh, yes! It looks like this was the case. 0
