Smarthost with reply-to address problem
Hi,
I must re-open an old topic because my customer is still paying for another smtp service.
i want use cPanel as smarthost for Exchange not payed smtp service !
The mails go to destination the only problem is the sender email address
client (aaaa@xxx) -->exchange(LAN)-->smarthost(my CPANEL)(smtp auth with bbbb@xxx)-->destination
the destination reiceve email from bbbb@xxx i want aaaa@xxx
in old topi michael suggested me to use this on exim config:
EXPERIMENTAL: Rewrite From: header to match actual sender ----> all
Enable Sender Rewriting Scheme (SRS) Support -------> on
but no success

Hi @leonep SRS support and Rewrite From: header to match actual sender should resolve that issue. Would it be possible to provide the customizations you've made to /etc/exim.conf.local? Thank you, 0 -
thanks Lauren my /etc/exim.conf.local : @AUTH@ @BEGINACL@ @CONFIG@ chunking_advertise_hosts="" daemon_smtp_ports = 587 : 25 : 465 @DIRECTOREND@ @DIRECTORMIDDLE@ @DIRECTORSTART@ @ENDACL@ @POSTMAILCOUNT@ @PREDOTFORWARD@ @PREFILTER@ @PRELOCALUSER@ @PRENOALIASDISCARD@ @PREROUTERS@ @PREVALIASNOSTAR@ @PREVALIASSTAR@ @PREVIRTUALUSER@ @RETRYEND@ @RETRYSTART@ @REWRITE@ @ROUTEREND@ @ROUTERMIDDLE@ @ROUTERSTART@ @TRANSPORTEND@ @TRANSPORTMIDDLE@ @TRANSPORTSTART@0 -
Hi @leonep Thanks for posting that, there's not much customized with this and nothing related to the smarthost setup so would it be possible for you to open a ticket for this using the link in my signature? I do want to note that we can't provide support for the smarthost configuration itself but we would be able to let you know after looking closer at the configuration if there is something preventing the correct user from being shown when mail is delivered. Once you open the ticket please post the ticket ID here so we can update this thread with the outcome. Thank you, 0 -
unfortunately for me the cPanel support has informed me that my need is not easily solved without changes to the exim configuration. This is a production server with various accounts so i give up. I think i go with a vps smarthost + postfix Thanks ticket ID 9432201 0 -
Hello, I am sorry that we weren't able to assist you with that issue. You may find some further assistance with the following: Mailing lists for Exim Or you may want to enlist the assistance of a qualified system administrator. If you don't have one you might find one here: Resources | cPanel Forums Thank you, 0
