Backing up to server and external server nightly
I'll start a new thread hope it's in the right forum.
I have nightly backups on my server through Cpanel, but want to have backups automatically sent to an external server at another hosting company just for peace of mind. And have 3 days worth of backups at the 2nd hosting company, not always over write the last back up.
The 2nd backups to the external hosting account can be run separately if they need to be, I am not concerned about load on my server it.
I have no idea if this can be done and what settings to add or modify.
Peace
Dave

Hello Dave, You can setup multiple destinations when configuring backups from "WHM >> Backup Configuration". We document how to do this under "Additional Destinations" at: Backup Configuration - Version 68 Documentation - cPanel Documentation Is this what you are attempting to do? Thank you. 0 -
Hi Michael Yes this is exactly what I want to do, have one set of backups on the working server each night and also save an additional copy of backups nightly on the 2nd server at another host. My problem is I am not too technical, I read that page you linked to but can not figure out where to go in my cpanel and what links to click to set it up. I appreciate your help Peace 0 -
Hello, The referenced option is available in Web Host Manager as opposed to cPanel. You would need root access to the server to use that feature, and it looks like you may only have cPanel access. Thank you. 0 -
