Error documents problem
I've seen some threads about sortlike issues, but I'm confused because I didn't see a solution.
On a newly installed Cpanel server with Centos 7.4 and cpanel 68.0.37 the default error documents will not show.
When I visit an empty page I get only text:
[quote]You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
When I visit a non existing page, I get the same, but then with 404. This happens on *every* account, so it's not that some error document line is in a .htaccess file. Especially if the public_html is empty. :) So how come the default error pages are not shown like on my old server. Did I forget to enable something or what is causing this?

Did you have custom error pages on your old server? Documentation on that can be found here: Error Pages - Version 68 Documentation - cPanel Documentation 0 -
Just discovered the same issue occurs on the old server. Only the suspended page is working, so I thought error pages were working. But errorpages are not working on the old server either and we do not have custom error pages. It's the same as on the new server, only the text I quoted, no nice page. 0 -
Hi @rhm.geerts could you open a ticket for this so we can take a closer look? Thank you, 0 -
Yes I will do that, thank you. 0 -
Thank you, once you do please add the ticket ID number and we'll update here the outcome of the ticket. Also, I just found this thread which might be useful as well Thank you, 0 -
I've read that thread but it's confusing to me maybe because I'm not native English. Should be working by default and that looked more like a solution to custom error pages. Ticket id is: 9454561 Thank you. 0 -
Understood! I'm watching that ticket and I will post the outcome here when it's completed Thank you, 0 -
Joshua has investigated the ticket and now I understand that this is no issue but default behaviour. I'm more used to work with DA where every user has error documents by default, so this added to my confusion. I thought cPanel did it some other way. The nice error pages are only shown on the server ip, there is no default for new accounts. So to get these for new accounts, we can copy all error pages and the cp_errordocument.conf to the skeleton directory and after that they will be put into the public_html of new users, and then they will work like I though. That is one solution. And that's a solution we can work with. I only have to copy them to the existing accounts now and then chown them to the correct username. 0 -
Hi @rhm.geerts Thank you for providing us with the outcome here, I'm glad to see that we were able to help you get a workable solution!! 0
