Making changes to httpd.conf?
Hello there.
I generally manage my Linux servers by logging in as root and doing everything from the command line. I switched my vps and it is handled with the whm/cpanel. I am so confused! I am trying to edit the httpd.conf for my virtual hosting and paths but everywhere it says not to edit it because changes will be overwritten, so I need to know where to make the changes so they wont be. I've done a ton of searches to see if I could figure it and right now my eyes are starring to bleed! Any help most welcome!

Hello, The best way to make changes to the Apache configuration is by the use of includes, you can also modify the templates if necessary. We have some documentation on this which might be helpful for you here: Advanced Apache Configuration - EasyApache 4 - cPanel Documentation Modify Apache Virtual Hosts with Include Files - EasyApache 4 - cPanel Documentation 0 -
Thanks! I'll take a look at those. I am so used to handling all the virtual hosts from the command line and so far this seems to be pretty overwhelming. Thanks again! 0 -
I understand! Once you get used to this though, it does make sense and becomes really easy to identify potential issues or troubleshoot by being able to identify the specific include that was added which could have caused the issue. Thank you, 0
