Hi @Gareth-AWD I modified the thread title to reference PHP 5.5 for you. I've opened an inquiry with our development EA-7421 to find out if we have a set deprecation schedule for this as well as if we're going to be supporting older PHP versions longer. I do know that as of right now we still provide PHP 5.3 which was EoL quite a few years ago per the supported versions documentation from PHP here:

Hi @Gareth-AWD I believe I can provide an update on this now. The team working on EasyApache has recently completed some internal cases which relate to this issue EA-7160 and EA-7173 EA-7160 resolved an issue where we were defaulting to EoL PHP versions and EA-7173 added warning/recommendations for PHP versions that were EoL So what's happening now is that you can still install EoL php versions, they will remain on our mirrors but the EasyApache 4 profiles will no longer automatically install/include them and should you attempt to install one you will get a notice that it is unsupported. Our intention is to follow PHP's deprecation schedule for PHP versions but they will remain available on our mirrors. So to answer your question directly:
With EasyApache 4 are cPanel looking to support older versions of PHP for longer? I'm concerned about old sites that rely on legacy mysql support etc. Is there a date cPanel will drop support for PHP 5.5, 5.6 etc.

No, we won't be supporting older php versions for longer but they will remain available. We will stop supporting PHP versions that are end of life, based on PHP's deprecation schedule provided here: PHP: Supported Versions Thanks!
