SOLR does not seem to be working
Hi!
I am unable to see that solr is working or not, because:
- plugin is installed
- "/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/install_dovecot_fts" reports that everything is installed
- "/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/rescan_user_dovecot_fts --user ..." runs smoothly
But:
- Searching does not work any better than before.
- I have 70.0.34 version of cpanel, but I cannot see any item in the users e-mail accounts menu.
- I cannot open any url with http://:8983 or http://:8984 (csf has been disabled also for the test and also tested with "links", nothing...)
- There is nothing running on port 8983
- The following process can be found running:
/usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.8.0/bin/java -server -Xms512m -Xmx512m -XX:NewRatio=3 -XX:SurvivorRatio=4 -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=8 -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:ConcGCThreads=4 -XX:ParallelGCThreads=4 -XX:+CMSScavengeBeforeRemark -XX:PretenureSizeThreshold=64m -XX:+UseCMSInitiatingOccupancyOnly -XX:CMSInitiatingOccupancyFraction=50 -XX:CMSMaxAbortablePrecleanTime=6000 -XX:+CMSParallelRemarkEnabled -XX:+ParallelRefProcEnabled -XX:-OmitStackTraceInFastThrow -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintHeapAtGC -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCDateStamps -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintTenuringDistribution -XX:+PrintGCApplicationStoppedTime -Xloggc:/home/cpanelsolr/server/logs/solr_gc.log -XX:+UseGCLogFileRotation -XX:NumberOfGCLogFiles=9 -XX:GCLogFileSize=20M -Dsolr.log.dir=/home/cpanelsolr/server/logs -Djetty.port=8984 -DSTOP.PORT=7984 -Dhost=127.0.0.1 -Duser.timezone=UTC -Djetty.home=/home/cpanelsolr/server -Dsolr.solr.home=/home/cpanelsolr/server/solr -Dsolr.install.dir=/home/cpanelsolr -Xss256k -Dsolr.autoSoftCommit.maxTime=3000 -Dsolr.log.muteconsole -XX:OnOutOfMemoryError=/home/cpanelsolr/bin/oom_solr.sh 8984 /home/cpanelsolr/server/logs -jar start.jar --module=http
How can I check if it is really working?
Should I be able to reach the web-based tool?
Any idea?
Thanks,
Daniel

If this is the case then it is installed and running- Searching does not work any better than before.
Than before when? This was more than likely automatically installed when you updated to cPanel v64 when it was released - it was part of the feature showcase present after updating at that time 64 Release Notes - Version 64 Documentation - cPanel Documentation- I cannot open any url with http://:8983 or http://:8984 (csf has been disabled also for the test and also tested with "links", nothing...)

It will be running on port 8984- The following process can be found running: /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.8.0/bin/java -server -Xms512m -Xmx512m -XX:NewRatio=3 -XX:SurvivorRatio=4 -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=8 -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:ConcGCThreads=4 -XX:ParallelGCThreads=4 -XX:+CMSScavengeBeforeRemark -XX:PretenureSizeThreshold=64m -XX:+UseCMSInitiatingOccupancyOnly -XX:CMSInitiatingOccupancyFraction=50 -XX:CMSMaxAbortablePrecleanTime=6000 -XX:+CMSParallelRemarkEnabled -XX:+ParallelRefProcEnabled -XX:-OmitStackTraceInFastThrow -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintHeapAtGC -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCDateStamps -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintTenuringDistribution -XX:+PrintGCApplicationStoppedTime -Xloggc:/home/cpanelsolr/server/logs/solr_gc.log -XX:+UseGCLogFileRotation -XX:NumberOfGCLogFiles=9 -XX:GCLogFileSize=20M -Dsolr.log.dir=/home/cpanelsolr/server/logs -Djetty.port=8984 -DSTOP.PORT=7984 -Dhost=127.0.0.1 -Duser.timezone=UTC -Djetty.home=/home/cpanelsolr/server -Dsolr.solr.home=/home/cpanelsolr/server/solr -Dsolr.install.dir=/home/cpanelsolr -Xss256k -Dsolr.autoSoftCommit.maxTime=3000 -Dsolr.log.muteconsole -XX:OnOutOfMemoryError=/home/cpanelsolr/bin/oom_solr.sh 8984 /home/cpanelsolr/server/logs -jar start.jar --module=http
This is the cpanelsolr process which uses javaHow can I check if it is really working?
I think the easiest way to identify what it's doing is by checking the logs /home/cpanelsolr/server/logsShould I be able to reach the web-based tool?
The web-based tool is not included as a part of the plugin in this instance0 -
Hi Lauren! Thank you very much for the clarification! Checking the logs, all seem well. Thanks very much!!! Regards, Daniel 0 -
