Check if server needs a restart via SSH?

Hey there, Is it possible to check if a cPanel server requires a restart for updates (i.e. "You must reboot the server to apply software updates.") in SSH? i.e. /usr/bin/needs-restarting (--reboothint) ? Is this all cPanel checks before displaying the message? https://i.imgur.com/llAD9cM.png
I'm looking to automate a way to check numerous servers to see if they need a restart. Thanks in advance.
