Unscheduled reboots after update
G'day All,
We run cPanel, CloudLinux and KernelCare, and after yum updates which raise a needs-restarting state such as...
1 : /usr/lib/systemd/systemd --system --deserialize 20
---
data:
details:
updates:
systemd: 1:219-57.el7.cloudlinux
needs_reboot: 1
metadata:
command: system_needs_reboot
reason: OK
result: 1
version: 1
...our servers will simply reboot within the next day or two unless we manually perform a reboot to allow updates to apply and clear the needs-restarting state.
The reboots write appropriate entries to the logs, so these are definitely controlled restarts.
This has now happened multiple times on multiple servers.
Is there a configuration we're missing?
We want to control reboots ourselves and not have automated restarts.
Regards,
LBJ

Hello, To update, it looks like this relates to the following issue reported on the CloudLinux support forums: kernel panics and servers restart The solution is currently in the beta release from CloudLinux: Beta: CloudLinux 7 and CloudLinux 6 Hybrid kernel updated Thank you. 0
