[CPANEL-20864] Addon domain DNS Zone not removed
-
Hello @rinkleton, I've moved this post to a new thread since it's associated to a new issue. However there are still issues when entering a domain that is a subdomain of the primary domain as an addon in the domain field. Example: Primary Domain: example.com Addon Domain: subdom.example.com Addon Subdomain: sub-subdom.example.com Addon Directory: any
Can you let me know the full steps you are taking to reproduce this issue? For instance, if you try to create an addon domain name that's a subdomain of the primary domain name of the account, it should present you with the following error message:You cannot park a domain on top of itself.
Thank you.0 -
I don't get that error. I vaguely remember getting it in the past, but I feel like there was a need for it so cpanel made changes to allow for it. But I could be confusing that with trying to park a subdomain of the root account on an account. I know there is a setting for this. To reproduce: - Create an account with primary domain: example.com - Create an addon domain with domain: subdom.example.com subdomain: sub-subdom directory: public_html - Terminate account This should leave a DNS zone for subdom.example.com still existing. Being able to create an addon domain on itself is pretty important and powerful. It solves a lot of issues relating to sharing of VHOSTs and DNS Zones. As far as I can tell it works perfectly other than leaving the DNS zone after termination. 0 -
Hello @rinkleton, I've reproduced the issue and opened internal case CPANEL-20864 to report this behavior. I'll monitor this case and update this thread with more information as it becomes available. Thank you. 0
