rsync backup configuration issue

Hi, Need some help, new to Linux. I have to backup a whm/cpanel linux server so using an inbuilt rsync backup option, installed a CentOS linux box as rsync backup destination. At the validate stage of backup configuration in WHM its gives an error message: " Validation for transport "bk-srv2" failed: Could not upload test file: child exited with code 1" Any help would be highly appreciated! best regards

  Hello @jigger Can you confirm that the user you added to access the remote server has permissions to read/write data on the VPS? It sounds like it connected but wasn't able to upload the test file. Thanks!

  Hi Lauren, Yes, the user has full rights to read/write data on the VPS. The issue seems to be related to the cPanel License. A soon as I switched from a trial to a full license, the problem has been solved.

  Hi @Novisoft Interesting, the trial while active should behave the same as a full license, I'm glad to hear it's all working as intended now.
