Upgrade PHP to v7 on VPS?
Hi
I have a VPS setup with GoDaddy, with Root access on WHM, but the VPS has php v5.6 installed.
I've been told that it needs to be upgraded to at least 7.1.3 in order to run our new Laravel site thats being developed.
I've spoke to GoDaddy and they want to charge "80 to upgrade it.
Does anyone have any guides etc of how to upgrade php to v7.1.3?
Thanks

It's a pretty easy upgrade but you'll need to check a few things first of all. Firstly, you'll need to check if you're using EasyApache v3 or v4 - you can check this pretty quickly by selecting "EasyApache v4" in WHM and if you get a message "EasyApache 4 is not available when EasyApache 3 is active" then you're using v3 and will need to convert. The EasyApache v4 guides are available here: EasyApache 4 Home - EasyApache 4 - cPanel Documentation Essentially, you'll need to customise your profile and ensure that PHP v7.1 (and v7.2 if you wish) are added to your server. Once added, they need configuring to your needs and they are available for sites then. 0 -
HI @tld2004 As long as you have root access to the server you shouldn't have a problem installing any version of PHP, the advice provided by @PenguinInternet is solid. Please let us know if you have issues or concerns with running EasyApache 4 Thanks! 0
