SSL account for custom nameservers
I have a custom nameserver in use at the moment. Let's say its custom.net . I don't have the domain actually set up in WHM with its own account even though custom.net points to the server on which WHM is installed. The problem that exists now is that since there has been a forced move to https, there must be a certificate installed on the server for custom.net otherwise you get all sorts of errors when you try to login with cpanel as well as periodic errors with FTP because the host name is supposedly not matching or secure.
When I tried to add an account for custom.net in WHM because I need to create a CSR, verify email, etc., I got the following error:
(XID sq6k6b) A DNS entry for custom.net already exists. You must remove this DNS entry from all servers in the DNS cluster to proceed.
Hmmm.... perhaps someone can elaborate on where to go from here. Thanks for the insight and assistance.

If you do not have any dns cluster, then go to Edit dns zone section and see if there is any dns zone file for Server hostname which has custom.net name in that and if that is the case, then you need to remove that dns zone first and then readd it back after adding the domain. 0
