addon domain with only specific subdomains

I am trying to avoid autoSSL acquiring SSL certs that cover the variety of subdomains that get created when an addon domain is created under a cPanel account. So, is there a way to configure the addon domain action such that it will only create a selected set of subdomains? I don't want:

• cpanel.
• mail.
• webmail.
• webdisk.

All I want created is:

• the addon domain itself
• the associated required subdomain
• www.

I tried turning off proxy subdomain creation (WHM->Home->Server Configuration->Tweak Settings->Domains) But, right after turning that off I went back to cPanel for the account, created an addon domain -- and those other domains all showed up as needing SSL certificates.
