Enable SpamAssassin cPanel DSNOnly
Hi there,
I offer email hosted to my customers, by using some dedicated servers and cPanel + MailChannels.
Now, I want to add mail redundancy by setting a secondary MX record.
So I have configured a VPS, with 1 GB of RAM and DNS Only cPanel.
All works fine, I added the PTR to secondary MX record, add the secondary record to all my primary DNS zones, and sync the zones with a script in order to add the domains to /etc/secondarymx.
The problem I have, is at the moment of enable spamassasin.
I tried do it from WHM interface, but I get this error:
The service "spamd" appears to be down.
Raw Output: The subprocess reported error number 69 when it ended.
(XID 2xkrtq) The service "spamd" failed to send the expected response to host "127.0.0.1" and port "783" because of an error: The service did not pass the built-in GTUBE test.
The subprocess "/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/restartsrv_spamd" reported error number 69 when it ended.
Also I tried this:
/scripts/restartsrv_spamd
/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/sa-update
/scripts/upcp --force
But nothing, I can't start the service.
Any idea?
Thanks a lot in advance.
Regards,

Hello @epsilon4 cPanel DNSOnly servers are not meant to be mail servers therefore the spamd service will not run. Information on the intended function of cPanel's DNSOnly can be found here: cPanel DNSONLY - Version 72 Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thanks! 0
