Install purchased SSL on CNAME

Hi i had the cname: example.com that lives on server 1 and that cname points to example.net that lives on server 2 example.com --> server 1 example.net --> server 2 If i enter example.net by https i get a green lock on the address bar, thatis ok But if i enter example.com by https i get the red warning. I need to install a ssl cert on example.com to fix that green lock. How can i do to install the cert on the cname example.com, is possible do that? Thanks in advance.

  Hello @samuelmf, You'd need to install the SSL certificate for example.com on the server that it resolves to and is configured on. SSL certificates installed for that domain name on the cPanel & WHM server are not active if the domain name resolves to another server. The better approach in this case is to setup "example.com" as an addon domain or alias on "Server 2" and use an "A" record (as opposed to a CNAME record) to point it to the IP address associated with that domain name on the second server.   let's see if I understood: With the right domain names example.cr.org.mx --> server 1 (ip: 184.164.xxx.xx) domain.net (ip:108.170.xx.xx) --> server 2 On this server i must install example as addon? and add the A record?

  Hello, You should install the SSL certificate on the server that the domain name serves it's website content on. If the domain name serves it's content from "Server 1", then install the SSL certificate on "Server 1". If the domain name serves it's content from "Server 2", then install the SSL certificate on "Server 2". Once the SSL certificate is installed, then you can setup the DNS records on the server that hosts the DNS for the domain name so that it points to the correct server. Thank you.
