Redirection between domains
Hi there,
I have a website running on domain 1. We decided to rebrand and bought domain 2 with the new brand name. While we were working on updating the website to match the new brand we had 301 redirect through the domain service provider on domain2.
We removed the 301 redirect, updated the A Name and then updated the nameservers to the hosting details on domain 2 where the website is hosted.
However, now every time we type www.domain2.com it automatically redirects to www.domain1.com.
We are unable to locate what is causing this redirection. Is is that domain1 is primary and domain2 is secondary and this is causing the redirect?
Or are there some rules in htaccess which causes the redirection?
Sorry but I am not really knowledgeable about this stuff and would really help any advice.

Hello @Shivanand, First, check the .htaccess file in the document root of the second domain name and in the public_html directory itself to verify if any custom Mod_Rewrite rules are enabled that could potentially lead to the redirect. If that's not the culprit, check the configuration of any scripts installed as part of the second domain's website to make sure there are no redirects configured in the script itself. Let me know if that helps. Thank you. 0 -
HI Michael, Thank you for your prompt reply. I have passed on the information to the agency handling the website. I will update you as soon as I hear from them. Kind Regards, Shivanand 0
