Only WHM freaks out with an error 500: "An invalid destination was provided" when I ask it to redirect me to one of those SSL hosts.

What does this mean exactly? Are you talking about clicking the link in List Accounts, in WebHost Manager, to access a cPanel account from within WHM?

See attached screenshot for more clarification as to where exactly I'm clicking to obtain this error. Sorry if this wasn't clear. If it's still unclear, feel free to ask more information.

I've replicated this. I'd most likely advise you to open a ticket directly with cPanel so they can look into this directly. screen-shot.net/2018-07-30_10-26-56.png

@MikeDVB Your error is not the same as mine. You're getting a TIME OUT error. Mine instantly displays: "An invalid destination was provided." Thanks @MikeDVB I will, eventually, if there's no other way, but there's always a way and it would benefit the whole community to have it explained on here how to fix this. When I solve the issues I post on here by myself, they always ask me to post the solution on here, so I expect the same in return, it benefits everybody to know how to solve all these issues by ourselves.

Hello, Internal case CPANEL-21761 is open to address an issue where opening a secured subdomain (e.g. mail.domain.tld) from the WHM >> Manage SSL Hosts interface can result in a 500 error during the redirect attempt. I'll monitor this case and update this thread with more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, the workaround is to manually access the secured domain (or subdomain) manually from a web browser instead of through the Manage SSL Hosts interface. Thank you.

Turns out it's an IP to Hostname problem. Clicking domains using a different IP work fine. In a nutshell, the issue was caused by trying to access HTTPS on a domain whose IP is not supposed to serve SSL. You can close this thread as assigning the correct SSL enabled IP to every domain solved this issue.

Hi @Benjamin D., I'm glad to see you were able to workaround the issue. That said, this is still something we'd like to prevent from happening so I'll leave this thread open and provide more information on the status of CPANEL-21761 as it becomes available. Thank you.
