Domain requires glue record
Hi.
I have a server at vps.net with cpanel installed.
I had to configure WHM/Cpanel myself. The instructions provided by VPS.net said to leave the DNS as default, which is ns1.vm. I am now trying to point a domain to my server but needed to configure the nameservers.
On WHM, Under edit DNS Zone I have the following:
domain: mydomain.com
mydomain.com 86400 IN NS ns1.mydomain.com
mydomain.com 86400 IN NS ns2.mydomain.com
mydomain.com 86400 IN A [IP Provided by VPS.net]
mydomain.com 86400 IN MX 0 mydomain.com
and some more lines for mail, ftp etc
then at the bottom
ns1 14400 IN A [IP Provided by VPS.net]
ns2 14400 IN A [IP Provided by VPS.net]
On my Domain registrar, I have pointed all records to the VPS.net IP, and have set the name servers to ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com. But the registrar keeps coming back with error a glue record is required. Am I missing something, what have I done wrong?
Also when I go to Nameserver record reports it still says ns1.vm, what is .vm. I thought Virtual Machine, but why hasn't it updated?
Thanks for any help
