Cron emails (/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/fix-cpanel-perl;/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp --c
I managed many servers with my email address set as the contact an I wake up to find many emails from different servers regarding
Cron (/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/fix-cpanel-perl;/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp --cron)
I already added >/dev/null 2>&1 to the command in the crontab to stop emails altogether because not once in like 5 years or so has there ever been an issue with upcp not running which makes this notification rather pointless as have to delete many emails. Unfortunately, after some time the changes are lost due to cPanel overwriting the command. All the emails start to be sent again.
It really should only be sent if an issue is detected or at least provide an option for us to configure each server that way.
cPanel is supposed to make managing a server easier but this is an unnecessary hassle! I get enough spammy emails as it is without the cPanel cronjob emails adding to it :)
Does Plesk do the same annoying thing? I've never used Plesk.
Please fix this. Other than that, and the backup system does not work as I would like it to, I am pretty happy with cPanel. Been using cPanel for close to 15 years now.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @HostXNow_Chris Because we change the cron for upcp occasionally we do sometimes overwrite your entry in the crontab. This kind of change request I think would be best handled in a feature request. I believe it might be suggested that the better way to handle this would be as a notification that can be turned off/on like the update failure notification is currently. You can open a feature request by clicking the link in my signature. Once it's open please link it here so that others can vote on it as well. Thanks! 0 -
I've just created a new feature request and will link it here when it clears moderation. 0 -
Hi @John Manning Great, thanks for the update! 0 -
It's alive... Move upcp successful update emails to Contact Manager > Notifications Thanks @cPanelLauren :) 0 -
Hi @John Manning Awesome! I'm glad it got opened - I've already voted for it myself and I'm sure others will too, I appreciate your taking the time to open it. 0 -
I voted for this as it has happened again recently. Very annoying. 0
