WHM Update Inquiry

Hello, I have updated WHM from 11.38 to 11.48, but it took around 700MB from my VPS's space. Is that normal? Also, if it goes with this rate how many MBs will it need to upgrade to WHM 72? One last question, is it possible to update to WHM 72 directly from 11.48. I ran two updates in order to get to 11.48 from 11.38 and in the settings I have specified that I want to be upgraded to the latest stable (11.72). Thank you in advance!
