Stop extra DNS records being created for addon domains

Hi, I need to add domains to my cPanel account with the main domain example.com. To do this I create an addon domain example2.com as a subdomain of example.com e.g. example2.example.com. When I check example2.com in the Zone editor it has created multiple DNS records that I don't want e.g. mail.example2.com, cpanel.example2.com and ftp.example2.com. Is there any way that I can prevent these extra DNS records being created when adding addon domains? Regards, Aidan Brookes

  Hi @Aidan Brookes You could disable the proxy subdomain creation which should do this for you at WHM>>Server Configuration>>Tweak Settings An explanation of Proxy Subdomains can be found here Proxy Subdomains Explanation - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Thanks!

  I want proxy subdomains, but I don't want them generated for -subdomain-. Is this possible?

  Hi @brt If you don't want them on specific domains you'd have to manually remove them. There's no way to enable proxysubdomains for specific domains. To remove them you'd just run: /scripts/proxydomains remove --domain=sub.domain.tld
